ZIMBINI

Zimbini is a cinematic Afro-pop artist, originally from Cofimvaba in Eastern Cape, South Africa. With a rich background in South African theatre, Zimbini began her musical journey as lead vocalist in the spoken word movement "Lingua Franca" in 2012. Transitioning into music composition and sound design for theatre productions in Cape Town, her creative endeavours gained recognition, resulting in multiple Fleur Du Cap Theatre Awards for Best Sound Design, Original Soundscape, and Live Performance.

In 2019, Zimbini embarked on her solo music career, marking her debut with the single "Vuma." Her musical journey expanded with the release of her double album "Ndiyehlela (Ray-Ray)" in 2021, receiving widespread acclaim. Collaborating with the Cape Town Philharmonic Orchestra for the performance "Dance Can Dance - The Spirit of Enchantment," under the direction of Elvis Sibeko, further underscored Zimbini's versatility and artistic prowess.
